We use questioning to encourage deeper thinking, as a tool for assessment and to promote inquiry and awe and wonder in our students. Focusing on the different levels of questioning will assist us to achieve this in a supportive classroom. Keeping in mind the strategies we use as a teacher and how we build a questioning environment with our students. If you have tried any of the strategies explored on Day 4, please post a comment on how it went.

February 21st, 2007 by mrodwell · No Comments · Podcast!!
Why Podcast?

Podcasting is an excellent tool for children to use in the classroom. This article below explores what is podcasting and the implications for our students and classrooms.
Below are some links featuring Podcasts that teachers have created with their students. They are certainly worth taking the time to listen to these and gain a clearer understanding of how you can use podcast with your students.
This podcast titled Overcoming Obstacles “Its Elementary Kids, Working Web 2.0 with Grade 3-4″ is from the k12 online conference. John Pearce explores how he used web 2.0 with students in his classroom.
Chapter 13 relates specifically to Podcasting, however all chapters are worth listening to as John also explores how to overcome certain obstacles when using web 2.0.
